True stories with a twist!

Today I am doing something that we are warned never to do. I am meeting someone for lunch. Someone I don’t know. Someone from the internet.

All my creative blogger friends, I call upon you to predict what the meeting will be like. How will it work out? Will there be surprises? Will this person be anything like my image from exchanging posts over the past months?

Please write your predictions, your reactions to this daring stunt, and your opinions of the wisdom of this adventurous move.

  1. My opinion, now too late to head off a catastrophe (as if it would have anyway! 🙂 )
That’s plum crazy girl!!! What were you thinking???
Oh, and one more thing – some of life’s greatest gifts begin with taking a risk. I DO hope it turned out well (or is STILL turning out.)

  2. Sorry I missed this opportunity to say “GO for it!”
    So glad you DID!

  3. […] the morning of our lunch date, I checked my e-mail and saw that Ronnie had written a post called “FORBIDDEN RENDEZVOUS.” After reading her post I realized that we shared the same concerns, although she had one distinct […]

  4. Ha ha! Well all I know is I cannot WAIT to hear all about it, Ronnie! 🙂

  5. Ronnie- I love your snappy new theme on two accounts (WordPress and this topic!)

    • I was fooling around with the “themes” section of wordpress, thinking I’d get a nice new spring theme. What I learned was “Never mess with wordpress.” This is NOT what I thought it would be.
      But ‘glad you like it.

Ronnie! DETAILS are needed after this post! I think to be late in penning any warnings, so, I shall just wait to read your “rendezvous” (thanks, Harvey for the spelling!! lol). Thanks also for a lovely comment on my recent post, my friend!

Hmm…I await your post on this one! Cheers.

  7. I think the meeting will be lovely, the food mediocre (you won’t be paying attention to eating, just the conversation), and you’ll probably meet again.

    How’s that for a positive attitude?! 🙂

  8. I have done this before .. actually this reminds me of a very funny story! have fun. She might be a lovely girl! You never said anything about it being a gun toting drug runner! c

  9. If you like surprises then go ahead. At least you will have an experience and a lesson whether to do it again or not. Be positive you will surely gain something.

  10. This is so cool! Great way to check out your intuition. Did you “feel” a good energy in the person’s presence? Did lunch taste better or more relaxed? I often try to imagine a person’s face/ age as I talk to them on the phone or write to them. I find that I am better with the written word than the spoken.
Let us know how it went. so excited for you…

  11. make sure your husband knows about this! Wait a minute I am your husband and I do know about your rendezvous(didn’t I help you spell rendezvous?). Have a good time and since I know all the details—well I won’t say anything else.

  12. Hi,
A very brave thing to do. But I agree with others here, make sure someone knows exactly where you are going, ring them up and let them know that it is going alright or not, and then ring them back when it is over, that should be a plan.
Make sure it’s a place with plenty of people around, and under no circumstances get into a strangers car.
OMG, I sound like my Mother. 😆
Now, above all else, have a great time, the meeting may turn into a something wonderful. 😀

  14. I think it will go fine. Just be smart and aware of what is going on around you.

  16. I am doing the same thing next week! Make sure someone knows where you are going and who you are meeting and meet somewhere more populated than a highway underpass. You’ll be fine. Could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship!

Seems like something your mother would warn you not to do. Is it too late for your daughter to discourage this idea???

  18. Wow, you’re a brave lass…very daring…good luck, Ronnie! 🙂

  19. This sounds very daring and exciting. I’d like to do something like this one day, but I’m worried I might wind up kidnapped and wake up in the trunk of the person’s car.

I hope you have a great time and that you are pleasantly surprised 🙂

  20. I predict there will be lunch and conversation. 😉

Take II: I predict everything will go very smoothly, and that this will be the first of many such fortuitous meetings. This is also my wish. Let us know how it goes!

  21. Pass – Yes- No. I hope your adventure is a huge success.
