Do you like to play games? No, I don’t mean the dating kind of “Games People Play,“ but regular, score keeping board games. Family games. Friends over, let’s-play type of games.
How about a game that won the 2012 Award for the best Game Of the Year by Creative Child Magazine? You’re cool; you’re current; you want to play the new game in town.
A game that causes writers like you and me to search for new words. A game that helps boomers exercise their brains. A game that children enjoy playing, with their friends, siblings, or a generation or two beyond their age groups.
I discovered such a game last night at dinner with my brother, Jerry (of the African name story two blogs ago.)
It’s called KerFlip. It’s a word game, it’s fun for children and adults, and has a leg up on other word games. I am always looking for something different to bring when I :
*go to a friend’s house for dinner
* visit my children
* Bring a gift to an ailing friend
*A ‘Thank you” gift
* have a small surprise for no special reason at all.
Check out the website, Kerflip.com/about. See what the game looks like, meet the inventor, and watch a demonstration to see how the game is played. You can buy a game at kerflip.com/purchase.

Looks great, Ronnie. I like the clean-up feature, too. That’s the worst part of some games — having to pick up a hundred little pieces, and struggling to get everything to fit back in the box.
You must be a wicked player of word games; I’d hate to be up against you in a game!
I must be getting Old… as I havent heard of this board game.. . Lol…. But it sounds fun..
This is a brand new game; just invented and starting to advertise. So this blog is a breakthrough announcement!
I love board games and such 🙂
Lucky you, then. Nobody else that you know will have ever seen this game, since it is newly on the market. You can buy it on line.
Looks like so much fun! Never heard of it before. Definitely looking it up for this summer 🙂 Thanks Ronnie
It’s a brand new game, and one you can be sure none of your friends have ever seen either.
Your best bet is to order it online; I’m not sure which stores are carrying it.
Ronnie! This sounds like my kind of game. Thanks for the heads up! I’m going over to check it out right now! 😀
Linda, You will be a knock out at this game; your blog will have even stranger names and words than it has now!
Oh I will order it post haste! 😀
I just received the ones I ordered, and just in time, too. Today a friend called and invited us to their lake home in July. A few rounds of KerFlip will make a fun time of it no matter what the weather turns out to be.
Perfect Ronnie! If it’s too cold to KerFlip into the lake you can play KerFlip! I’d say you’ve pretty much got the KerFlipping covered! 😀
Annnnnd I’m officially addicted. I needed another reason NOT to clean my house or cook dinner 🙂 Good looking out!
Those things will only have to be repeated tomorrow, so why bother? Have fun playing word games instead.
OMG. You nailed it for me. I’m a total word game person, and though I do prefer playing with other humans in person, it’s hard where we live. And so I play Words With Friends online, which keeps me in touch with family and friends I’m not physically close to. We comment back and forth while playing as well.
But my favorite board games when my daughter and friends are here are Taboo and Cranium. Too fun! 😀
No wonder your vocabulary is so excellent; the word games you love challenge your mind. I really like this one, and since it’s brand new you can be one of the first to play it.
🙂 (and thanks for the compliment).
Tried the game. It also has a verbal component and the tiles have different values on either side.
Cool game
.
Great! Enjoy the game.
I love word games! I’ll have to check it out–thx Ronnie!
Yes, and KerFlip is an interesting twist in the other word games we know. This one is a winner!
Thanks for the info, Ronnie, I’m a word games addict! 🙂
Me too; that’s why I was so excited about this new game.
Hi,
Sounds like a great game for the family or friends to play. I think it’s great that they are still coming up with new games. 😀
So do I. And I especially like new games that are NOT electronic.
