At the beginning it reminded me of a Robin Cook medical thriller similar to “The Andromeda Strain.” But before long I was shaking as much as I would be reading a Stephen King book, like “The Shining.” What an accomplishment!
Carrie Rubin is a blogger whose work I have been following for quite a while. The Write Transition, her blog’s name, is a humor blog. With her quick wit I expected a humorous book, but Wow: was I surprised. As a physician, humorist, scary book writer and mom, she covers all the bases. I wholeheartedly recommend her book to anyone who wants a gripping, imaginative and frightening story, read “The Seneca Scourge.”

Yes, ma’am 🙂 I appreciate the advice. I won’t push myself.
Hey I was wondering if you saw my mailing address?
Aw, I’m happy to be back, too 🙂 Mr. Puddlethorpe was there for me all the time. How nice of you to send him over! I’m mending well. Just that I can’t walk around or sit in a place for long. But docs say this is only temporary.
Yeah, I intend to continue with my WIP. I can’t wait.
He’s casual: I’m sure you can call him Percy. I’m glad you’re feeling a little better; don’t do anything before your body tells you it’s alright. You don’t need a reversal of the healing process!

Good thing you are promoting a fellow blogger as well as her book. I bet it will worth reading considering your review. It’s rare to find a writer who combines a lot of human aspects in one tale. Carrie is in a class of her own.
I’d like to read her book.
Hey, thanks for all the support and get-well messages. You’re a friend, indeed 😉
Uzo, I am so glad to see you back to writing after that long illness. I guess Percy Puddlethorpe really did help you, as I described how he helped me in my book.
Will you be continuing your scary stories soon?
I recently got a gift card to Amazon and am planning to use it to download many of the good books recommended to my kindle! Thanks!
What a treat! A gift card to kindle is a great idea for a gift: enjoy!
Carrie’s book is definitely a good recommendation. The story grabs you and doesn’t let go. I was up into the wee hours of the night to finish it. Her “twist” took me by surprise. I love that you compared your reaction to reading her book to the same reaction you have when reading Stephen King. 🙂
Yes, the “twist” really took me by surprise as well. Suddenly I was reading a different kind of story than the one I started reading.
Darn you! Yet another one to put on my reading list. 🙂
Reading is a good thing!
Thanks so much for the review. Very much appreciated. Glad you enjoyed the book!
Very much. Thanks for being such a great writer with an amazing imagination.
thank you, it looks terrifying! c
